On the morning of Aliya and Nathaniel’s wedding day, Nathaniel and his guys got ready together and then gathered with a couple beers to practice for something special - a surprise band performance for Aliya later that evening. All the while, Aliya had no idea this was happening as she was sharing an adorable first look with her girls on the other side of town. Soon after, A+N were ready to walk down the aisle at the church where they would become husband and wife. I love seeing the couple interact during ceremonies; they’re sometimes just in their own little world!

Because their wedding was in August and in Kelowna, it was during the time of the unforunate wildfires causing extremely smokey air. However, the smoke created a foggy effect that covered the scenery, which made for some beautiful photos. We visited the abandoned hotel in Kaleden for their wedding party portraits, and I couldn’t believe the amount of ivy that had taken over the structure! It was so dreamy. I’m a huge sucker for ivy if you haven’t noticed…

Then, we went to a viewpoint where you can normally see the view of the lake, but due to the smoke, we were just looking out into the abyss - though I kind of prefer that to be honest! Hello diffused soft light.

To end off their big day, A+N held their reception at Linden Gardens where they served a build-your-own-taco bar AND Domino’s pizza! My kind of people. Don’t ask me how many tacos I had but I’ll say it was less than 7 (I had 6). For dessert, it was none other than Okanagan famous Tickleberry’s Ice Cream. Everyone surrounded the couple with their ice creams for their first dance under the string lights, in the beautiful gardens on that warm summer’s night. Nathaniel and his boys performed the song they had practiced for Aliya, and it’s safe to say Aliya was thoroughly surprised. They all danced the night away and the rest was history.
