Intimate Mayne Island Backyard Wedding, BC - Mona + Rylan

I have never been to Mayne Island before, nor have I actually heard of it, but I packed my bags and headed there for Mona and Rylan’s wedding back in August! Rylan’s family vacation home there served as their wedding venue and oh my goodness, was it breathtaking (to say the least). The property provided lots of privacy for their intimate wedding, but open enough for a beautiful forest-y backyard ceremony, a view of the water and lush trees further than the eye could see, and a gorgeous poolside reception. M+R opted for an unplugged ceremony, which is something I highly recommend to all couples, and it’s not just for my benefit! While your photographer will be relieved not to have to edit out your relative’s red iPad or have cellphones in their way, you will get to look out to your loved ones fully present, seeing the reactions on their faces. Of course, this means you’ll get some emotional, candid photos of your guests that you might not get otherwise. (Scroll to see what I’m talking about!)

Any couple who loves their dog and wants to include them into their day are my kind of people. M+R love their pup, Indie, to pieces so it's no surprise that she was a big part of their day. Lucky for me, I got to hang out with Indie all day and M+R got lots of photos of their adorable moments with her!

You seriously have to check out their wedding below and I’m not saying that because I’m biased (who am I kidding, I totally am)!
