The Permanent Wedding, Vancouver BC - Annabel + Barry

I normally would start off a blog post with a photo of the couple who’s story I’m about to tell, but I feel as though the backstory of Annabel’s wedding dress is a good place to start in laying the groundwork for the one about their day:
Theater actress, Annabel, wore the dress over 25 years ago with Barry to a theater award show. The dress was from the UVic costume department made for the production she starred in earlier that evening, a dress she wanted she would wear if she ever got married. Well, that time had come, over 30 years later, and all Annabel could think about was that dress. Of course, after all these years, it's unlikely that the costume department would still have it. But by the power of the universe, Annabel received the response of "I know that dress, we still have it." Needless to say, she wore that very dress as she said her vows to the man she had built a life with.

Annabel and Barry a couple who has been committed to each other for over 30 years, who have built a family together, raised their two children into adulthood together, who decided that it's about time to take their commitment one step further: marriage. These two finally wed at the beautiful Permanent Heritage Building in Downtown Vancouver. Their wedding was beautifully decorated by none other than Bespoke Decor; with vibrant colours and gold accents, perfectly suited to the style of the couple. I absolutely adored how Annabel +Barry’s sons walked their mom down the aisle to meet their dad at the altar, with all their guests surrounding them in one of my favourite ceremony set ups.

With their background in theater and acting, it only made sense that there were a few surprise performances during the reception. Annabel and several of her friends performed a few numbers, turning their evening into a cabaret! Following that was Annabel + Barry’s first dance which was also nothing short of amazing. They were so cute, sneaking off after dinner to practice their dance together in private! Of course, not in total privacy because I intruded. I knew that the dance party was going to be epic with the crowd that we had, and they proved me right. It was probably one of the most coordinated dance floors I’ve seen! I feel incredibly honored to share A+B’s amazing story of commitment and doing things on their own terms.
