Rainy Backyard Elopement, Vancouver BC - Caitlin + Denis
On a typical rainy Vancouver day, Caitlin and Denis were at home calmly preparing for their intimate backyard ceremony later that afternoon with only their immediate family attending. Caitlin slipped on her beautiful vintage dress and mustard coloured shoes, Denis buttoned up his dapper suit and they journeyed down the aisle in their backyard to say their ‘I Do’s to each other. Their ceremony details included bulb lights, a few floral arrangements placed atop tree stump coffee tables from their living room ,and rustic wooden chairs for their family.
We were later blessed with dry, clear skies for their portraits around the neighborhood, where we stumbled upon a row of fully bloomed cherry blossoms! The pastel pink cherry blossom petals made Caitlin and Denis pop in the most perfect way.
When we returned to their home, a few more of their closest friends joined for the reception to share in some delicious food, champagne and heartfelt speeches. It is always a special thing to be a part of an intimate wedding with a small number of guests, but this one was twice as special for me: Caitlin is the sister of one of my past couples, Courtney + Marat, so I already knew their family and of course, getting to see them again was such a treat. I am so honored to have documented a second wedding within their family!
C+D’s day was simple and so so perfect for them. It was bursting with endless laughter and lots of love, exactly what they are all about.
