Brix & Mortar Intimate Wedding, Vancouver BC - Kaitlin + Barry

Kaitlin + Barry had waited for this day for a long time - 12 years to be exact! These high school sweethearts had an intimate celebration at Brix and Mortar with their closest family & friends and it was perfect. The day began with the bride & groom getting ready for the main event. They both wrote each other cards to read separately before the ceremony, and it was one of my favourite details to photograph. Barry’s reaction to Kaitlin walking down the aisle was everything! His smile (and tears) say it all. Moments after being announced husband & wife and signing the papers, they celebrated by cutting their cake (which I think is a great way to kick off married life)!

We wandered around Yaletown for wedding party photos and it was the perfect overcast, yet dry day. The lighting was to die for and we found some stunning spots for their photos, like a cool parking overhang (if you don’t know already, parking lots are my go-to). When we were walking to another photo spot, we came across a beautiful vintage car that had broken down near a crosswalk, and the kind man who owned it offered to let us take some photos with it! It was such a serendipitous moment. The sun also decided to peak out at the perfect moment.
